The methods behind the work
Six approaches I'm trained in. In practice they run together rather than taking turns.
Approaches
- 01Somatic therapyUnderstanding a pattern and interrupting one are different jobs. This is the slower, body-first route, and it involves no physical touch.
- 02Internal Family Systems (IFS)An internal argument you have been losing for years is still an argument between two things that want something. IFS is a way of hearing both sides out.
- 03Inner Relationship FocusingA slow, body-led practice of staying with something long enough that it can say what it actually needs. Pressure tends to make these things dig in; company is a different offer.
- 04Experiential therapySomething has to happen in the hour, not just get reviewed in it. Experiential work follows whatever is alive while we are together.
- 05Psychodynamic and relational therapyOld relationships set the template, and the template keeps running. This is close attention to how it runs, including in the one we have.
- 06Psychedelic integrationWhat opened up has to become something you can live with on an ordinary weekday. That translation is the work, and it happens in ordinary therapy hours.
Start with a free consultation
A short conversation, about fifteen to twenty minutes, with no obligation afterwards. Weekly therapy takes place via telehealth. I am licensed in New York and can only offer psychotherapy services to people who reside in New York State.
