Uses and disclosures for treatment, payment and operations

Information about you may be used to provide and coordinate your treatment, to obtain payment for services, and for the practice’s own administrative operations. Where required, this is done with your written authorisation.

Disclosures that may be required by law

In limited circumstances, disclosure may be required without your authorisation — for example where there is a duty to report suspected abuse or neglect, where there is a serious and imminent risk of harm, or in response to a valid court order. Psychotherapy notes receive additional protection and are generally not disclosed without your specific written authorisation.
