Breakup and divorce recovery

A rupture can undo years of steadiness in a week. That's not weakness — attachment loss is a physiological event, not only an emotional one.

You might recognize

Some of this may sound familiar

  • You feel like you're starting from zero after doing so much work.
  • Your body won't settle — sleep, appetite, concentration all off.
  • You alternate between relief and grief without warning.
  • An old, familiar sense of unworthiness has come back loud.

In the work

What we actually do

Stabilize the system

First we address sleep, dread, and the loops that run at 3am — practical, body-based regulation before anything else.

Grieve what actually ended

Often it's not only the person: it's a future, an identity, a version of yourself. Each gets its own space.

Use the opening

Ruptures crack open exactly the material that's hardest to reach otherwise. Painful, and genuinely workable.

“Most of my clients come to me after a breakup or relationship rupture that's made them feel like they're starting over. If that's you right now, you're not back at square one. You're at the beginning of something different.”

FAQ

Questions people ask

How soon after a breakup should I start therapy?

Whenever you want support. Some people come in the first raw week, others months later when the numbness lifts.

Why does this hurt more than it 'should'?

Because attachment loss lands in the body and often reopens earlier losses. The intensity is information, not evidence that something's wrong with you.

I've been through this before and swore I'd handled it.

You've done the therapy and understand your patterns, and still feel back where you started. That's exactly the plateau this work is built for.

Can therapy help me decide whether to leave?

We can work on clarity — what you want, what you fear, what your body already knows — without me making the decision for you.
