Why I work this way

Many approaches to therapy treat humans as logic machines. But real change lives in the emotional and unconscious mind, in the attachment systems and the body. If you’ve ever felt like you understand your issues but can’t seem to change them, that difference matters.

Most of the people I work with are creative, sensitive and high-functioning. They are often their own worst critic. They struggle to believe their own needs count. Many have been in therapy before and got somewhere real — and then their progress in therapy hit a plateau.

What I’m drawn to

I’m especially drawn to working with creatives, artists, entrepreneurs, queer folks, and people recovering from high-demand religions, because all of those things are part of my background and personal experience. That doesn’t make your experience the same as mine. It does mean you won’t have to explain the basics.

Training

I’m trained in:

• Internal Family Systems (IFS)
• Inner Relationship Focusing
• Somatic and experiential psychotherapy
• Psychodynamic and relational psychotherapy
• Mindfulness-based approaches
• Psychedelic integration, including ketamine-assisted therapy

What I don’t do

I don’t treat moderate to severe eating disorders, psychosis, OCD, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, autism or severe ADHD. I don’t prescribe medication — I’m not a physician or a psychologist. And I don’t provide therapy services to people who live outside New York. I offer life coaching services worldwide.
