Therapy in Manhattan

Most of this work is complex trauma, attachment and the patterns that outlast insight, and all of the weekly therapy happens by telehealth. Manhattan is where the one in-person piece lives: ketamine-assisted therapy at the office or in your home, screened, prescribed and overseen by a separate independent licensed medical provider, never by Melanie.

Working together from Manhattan

How this actually works

The office is in Manhattan, and ketamine-assisted sessions happen there in person, or in your home. One of those sessions runs 180 minutes and costs $846. Screening, prescribing and medical oversight come from a separate independent licensed medical provider, never from Melanie. It is never a standalone service — it is offered only alongside ongoing psychotherapy with her, and it is not a first-line treatment. The weekly therapy itself stays telehealth, with you physically located in New York State each time.

Why people get in touch

What brings people here

Who handles the medicine

Melanie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She does not prescribe, supply, or administer medication. Screening, prescribing, and medical oversight for ketamine come from a separate, independent licensed medical provider, and that separation does not blur. Her side of it is the therapy.

Three hours, not fifty minutes

A ketamine-assisted session is 180 minutes and costs $846, which is a different shape of appointment from the weekly hour. It is offered only alongside ongoing psychotherapy with Melanie, it is not a first-line treatment, and the prescribing and medical oversight stay with the separate independent licensed medical provider. Therapy outcomes are not guaranteed.

Added to ongoing therapy

This format is only available alongside continuing psychotherapy with Melanie. It isn't something you book once and leave with. If you aren't already working together, the starting point is the same as everyone else's — a free consultation of 15 to 20 minutes, then weekly individual sessions at $235.

FAQ

Questions from Manhattan

Do you prescribe the ketamine?

No. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, so I don't prescribe, supply, or administer any medication. A separate independent licensed medical provider screens you, prescribes, and holds the medical oversight. I stay in the therapy role.

Can we do our weekly sessions at the office too?

No. Weekly therapy takes place via telehealth. I am licensed in New York and can only offer psychotherapy services to people who reside in New York State. You also need to be physically located in the state at the time of each session. The office, or your home, is where ketamine-assisted work happens, and the screening, prescribing and medical oversight for that belong to a separate independent licensed medical provider, not to me.

Is this where people usually begin?

Usually not. Ketamine-assisted therapy isn't a first-line treatment, it runs only alongside psychotherapy we're already doing, and the screening and prescribing are handled by a separate independent licensed medical provider rather than by me. People generally start with the free consultation and weekly sessions, and we talk about whether this format makes sense later, if at all.

What if something urgent comes up before a session?

If you are in danger right now, call or text 988 or dial 911. This site isn't a crisis service and email is not monitored for emergencies. Email at melanie@embodiedwithmelanie.com is for scheduling and questions that can wait.
