Therapy on Long Island

You can name the pattern in your relationships and still find yourself standing inside it again. Attachment work starts underneath the naming.

Working together from Long Island

How this actually works

Melanie's weekly therapy practice is telehealth, and that is the whole offer here — there is no Long Island office and no drive to one. The session happens wherever you can shut a door for 50 minutes, around whatever else the day holds. If your week is already spent moving between places, that matters more than it sounds. What she needs is simple: you are physically somewhere in New York State when the session begins.

I don’t have an office there. Weekly therapy is telehealth, and you need to be physically located in New York State at the time of each session.

Why people get in touch

What brings people here

Weekly, without the travel

Sessions run 50 minutes and usually happen weekly, by telehealth. None of that changes because of where in the state you are. Consistency is easier to protect when there is no travel attached to it.

Patterns, not just insight

Melanie is trained in Internal Family Systems, Inner Relationship Focusing, and somatic and experiential psychotherapy, alongside psychodynamic and relational work. It is aimed at the part of you that reacts before you have decided anything. Plenty of people arrive already able to explain the pattern in detail. Attachment patterns are learned in relationship and can shift in relationship — progress is usually gradual and uneven, and therapy outcomes are not guaranteed.

Individual work, clear terms

All therapy here is one-to-one — she does not see couples, so relationship work is done through your side of it. Sessions are $235. She is out-of-network with all insurance plans and provides a monthly superbill you can submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement, which is never guaranteed, and there is no sliding scale.

FAQ

Questions from Long Island

Do you have an office on Long Island?

No. Melanie's only office is in Manhattan, and weekly therapy does not happen there. Weekly therapy is telehealth, and you need to be physically located in New York State at the time of each session.

Where do I have to be when we meet?

Weekly therapy takes place via telehealth. I am licensed in New York and can only offer psychotherapy services to people who reside in New York State. In practice that means being physically in New York State when the session starts.

Can my partner come to a session?

No. Every session is individual. The relationship still gets worked with directly, through what happens in you — what you brace for, what you go quiet about, what you do when someone gets close.

What does it cost, and what if I have to cancel?

Individual sessions are $235 for 50 minutes. Cancel or reschedule with at least 24 hours' notice; inside that window the full fee applies. A Good Faith Estimate is available on request.

How do we start?
